Lights from December is a compilation of selected lyrics, narrative verse, and poems written in a Christmas theme over four decades. This collection is divided into four sections: "Lights of Bethlehem," "Reflecting In Candlelight," "Glowing Declarations," and "Festivities At Home."

In 1962, the author published three greeting card booklets: "Compatible with Spring," "Preface to Easter," and "December Has A Heart." Several poems from the latter booklet are included.

Poems in "Glowing Declarations" were written for a project involving church school children and their parents.

Over the years, friends and relatives have been recipients of poems in this compendium.

Though emphasis is Christmas and Advent, we cherish friends who celebrate Hannukah in their religious Festival of Lights. Also, we are aware of others who ceremonialize lights in December, for example, Santa Lucia and Winter Solstice. Additionally, we respect people who choose not to exalt any special time.

In recognizing that individuals each honor a light within themselves as each deems comfortable, let me introduce the Lights From December for those of us who have found our celebration niche in Christmas.
