Ilett O’Connor is a social studies teacher in the New York public school system. She earned a B.A. degree in sociology from Brooklyn College and an M.A. in education from Adelphi University; she is a doctoral candidate in literacy at Hofstra University. She has also completed studies at Long Island University-Bridgeport for certification as a guidance counselor.

Ms. O’Connor is listed in Who’s Who Among America’s Teachers and is the author of Calicko: The Tale of the Lickety Cat. Natie and the Unconquerable Sheila and How Bear Lost His Tail are her second and third books. She lives in Elmont, New York.
